Sheffield United midfielder Alan Quinn was the Republic's only injury casualty over the weekend, the Dubliner limping out of his club's 2-1 win over Burnley eight minutes from time after scoring the game's opening goal and setting up the second.
Brian Kerr made no announcement regarding a replacement in the squad for the World Cup qualifier against Israel in Tel Aviv on Saturday but with both Steven Reid and Rory Delap on standby since the squad was named last week, it is likely the manager will draft one of the pair in ahead of tomorrow's first training session at Portmarnock, Co Dublin.
Quinn's injury aside, it was a fairly good weekend for Kerr, with almost all his regular starters playing prominent roles for their Premiership clubs and none suffering any significant injury.
Key figures like Roy Keane, Shay Given and Kenny Cunningham played 90 minutes, while Andy Reid and Damien Duff did well before being substituted late on by Martin Jol and Jose Mourinho respectively.
Reid, in fact, was in particularly strong form for Tottenham as the Londoners beat Manchester City, and the young winger set up the home side's opening goal before making way for Robbie Keane, who scored the second six minutes from time.
Duff also did well before being replaced by Arjen Robben with a quarter of an hour remaining of Chelsea's 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace, a win that moves the premiership leaders to within 14 points of their first league title for 50 years.
In addition to Robbie Keane, Clinton Morrison and John O'Shea made brief appearances from the bench as Birmingham City and Manchester United both won.
The striker will again be disappointed to have featured for only two minutes as City beat their neighbours 1-0 while O'Shea got just five minutes longer, coming on as a late replacement for Wayne Rooney as Alex Ferguson sought to kill off his side's game with Fulham with the score standing at 1-0.
Steve Finnan and Kevin Kilbane both played 90 minutes of a bruising Merseyside derby at Anfield, and Kerr was last night waiting on confirmation that neither had picked up any knocks in Liverpool's 2-1 win, but all the indications last night were that they too would be fit to travel.
The Irish squad will gather tomorrow in Dublin, where they will have two training sessions prior to leaving for Tel Aviv on Wednesday afternoon.
Those Israeli players based at home, meanwhile, have already trained together a number of times but the rest of the players are due to fly there this morning, with Tal Ben Haim of Bolton and Racing Santander's Yossi Benayoum both having played over the weekend.
Benayoum, the team's key creative influence in midfield, was nursing a knee injury prior to the weekend and was felt to be a minor doubt for Saturday's game. Yesterday, however, he came through Santander's 3-2 away win over Numancia without any apparent problems and though he was substituted in stoppage time it seemed to be only to run the clock down.
