Leinster SF Quarter-finals/ Mattock Rangers 1-9 Horeswood 1-8: Mattock Rangers scraped home at Drogheda yesterday. Starting as favourites, things looked to be going to plan a minute into the second half when Christy Grimes floated over his second free to give Rangers a 0-7 to 0-4 lead.

However, Horeswood made their way up the other end and when a Leigh O'Brien effort dropped short, Michael Englishby could only palm the ball against his crossbar and Barry Hearn fisted the rebound to the net. Horeswood's Ciarán Deely and David Shannon added a point apiece to give them the lead.

Mattock's Adrian Reid, Seán Gilsenan and Shane Grimes combine to set up a Grimes goal after Horeswood goalkeeper Diarmuid Hartley fumbled the ball. Mattock got a point from David Reid but David Shannon pegged them back with a brace of scores. With nine minutes remaining Reid slotted over a 21-yard free for the winner.

Mattock's David Brennan received a second yellow card and subsequent red but Leigh O'Brien sent the resulting free agonisingly wide. Horeswood were awarded another free 35-yards from the posts but David Shannon sent his effort well wide.
