Super-Heavyweight champion Stephen Reynolds from Sligo has been given a walk-over into this year's Irish Amateur Boxing Association (IABA) super-heavyweight final following the withdrawal of his semi-final opponent James Clancy from the Dublin club Phoenix. Clancy pulled out of the semi-final yesterday after damaging his right hand in a sparring session.

This means that the reigning champion will meet the winner of the other semi-final bout between Tom Clare from Buncrana and John Kinsella from Crumlin.

The semi-finals will be decided over two sessions today and tomorrow with seven reigning champions defending their titles, not including Reynolds.

Flyweight champion Jim Rooney from the Star club is already proclaimed champion because of a lack of challengers.
