Laois 1-13 Roscommon 1-11:Reigning All-Ireland champions Roscommon were knocked out of this year's minor championship after a spirited second-half performance from Laois at Semple Stadium on Saturday proved enough to see them through to the last four of the competition.
A goal from Donal Kingston midway through on 46 minutes proved telling in the end as the Leinster county opened up a six-point gap, 1-12 to 0-9, with seven minutes of the game remaining.
Roscommon managed to reduce the deficit through a late penalty converted by substitute Leon O'Connor but Laois managed to hold out.
