Cistercian College Roscrea 16 CBC Monkstown 13: CISTERCIAN COLLEGE Roscrea held on in a dramatic finish at North Kildare yesterday to advance to a quarter-final clash with St Mary's after outhalf Aaron Sheehan missed a tricky penalty six minutes into injury-time to level this exciting tie.
Roscrea opened the scoring on 11 minutes after a storming burst from flanker James Murphy, who put Kevin O’Connell in for a try in the corner after 11 minutes.
Monkstown responded five minutes later when a slick backline move ended with winger Sam Hanley touching down beneath the posts.
Tadhg Leader’s boot gave Roscrea an edge as he kicked three penalties in the first half, two of them beautiful kicks. Sheehan kept Monkstown in touch with a three-pointer of his own.
