Bray Wanderers 1 Cobh Ramblers 0:GERARD ROWE'S superb headed goal stretched Bray's unbeaten run to five games, and a points haul of 13, to move Eddie Gormley's side up to fifth place in the table.
Cobh have only themselves to blame for getting nothing from a match they generally had the better of - forcing 11 corners to two.
But a needless foul by Cobh captain Kevin Murray on Paddy Kavanagh on 63 minutes cost them the points.
Alan Cawley whipped over a superb free-kick from the right and Rowe's powerful header hit the net despite goalkeeper James McCarthy getting a hand to the ball.
Cobh might have been level within minutes but for a terrific challenge by Derek Foran on Kieran O'Reilly.
Bray manager Eddie Gormley, clearly unhappy with his side's first-half showing, brought on striker Paul Dunphy for Gavin Whelan. Within four minutes Dunphy was involved with Derek Pender and Rowe to set up captain Colm Tresson who shot off the butt of a post.
