Runs in the family

In the Coghlan household it's usually the men who grab the headlines

In the Coghlan household it's usually the men who grab the headlines. The former "Chairman of the Boards", Eamonn Coghlan runs for fun now, but has taken up golf and, by all accounts, is a promising player.

His son Eamonn Jnr is also a keen golfer and is regarded as one of the best young players in the Luttrellstown Castle club. But last weekend it was the turn of Eamonn's senior's wife, Yvonne, to show that all the talent in the Coghlan home does not rest with the males. She won the club singles last Tuesday with a fine score of 41 points to pip Judith Hayes and Laura Hendron, both of whom had 39 points.

But there was consolation for Laura at the weekend when she scored 42 points to win the Saturday singles competition.
