Eric Elwood believed Connacht were the dominant scrum on Saturday night at the RDS. So did Ireland’s up and coming referee John Lacey.
Joe Schmidt passionately disagreed and Lacey (the former Munster winger) is to get an ear full, via official correspondence, later this week.
“I think it bears looking at again. We’re particularly disappointed with the five metre scrums again. It’s not a referee that has given us a lot of reward from five metre scrums and it was the same as Ospreys really.
“We’ll write our report, send it in and see if we get some action.”
