There should be plenty of spectacle at tomorrow's Schools' Liffey Descent canoe race which begins at the Salmon Leap club in Leixlip at 1 o'clock and finishes at King's Hospital school.

The event is in its 15th year and tomorrow's staging has drawn participants from Northern Ireland as well as a wide range of Southern schools - from Sligo Grammar School and An Spideal in Galway to local schools King's Hospital and Colaiste Padraig, Lucan. The participants are aged between 12 and 16 and the prize-giving is scheduled for 4.0 p.m.
