Shelbourne notched up another win as Bray Wanderers's relegation fears increased at the Carlisle Grounds on Saturday night. Pat Scully's goal after three minutes proved decisive in a scrappy game.
Bray goalkeeper John Walsh will count himself unlucky for the goal after blocking Stephen Geoghegan's shot only for Scully to fire in the rebound.
Shelbourne manager Dermot Kealy will be a bit disappointed at his side's second-half performance and indeed Bray's Ritchie Parsons should have levelled proceedings when clean through on 54 minutes.
By this stage both teams were down to 10 men but most people in the crowd were unsure why. What seemed an innocuous confrontation between Shelbourne full back Owen Heary and Bray midfielder Don Tierney was punished harshly with red cards from referee Gerry Perry.
