Former Blackrock College, Leinster and Ireland hooker John Cantrell has built a very successful career as an architect and a monument to his talent can now be seen in the office block he designed beside the Stillorgan Park hotel. The official opening takes place tomorrow and will be attended by a host of his former international colleagues.
However, the presence of one ex-rugby international, the French legend Jean Pierre Rives, is certain to lend a certain je ne sais quoi to the proceedings. Rives, now a sculptor of some renown in France, was commissioned by Cantrell to produce a piece for the office block. It will be situated in the reception area of the building.
