SHC QUARTER-FINALSTHE GAA have confirmed the hurling championship quarter-finals will both take place at Semple Stadium, Thurles, on Sunday week.
The winners of Kilkenny versus Limerick are due to face Munster champions Tipperary in the All-Ireland semi-final on August 19th with Leinster champions Galway awaiting the winners of Cork and Waterford on August 12th.
Both semi-finals will be held in Croke Park.
Meanwhile, Leinster Council chairman Martin Skelly expects 60,000 to attend the minor and senior football finals, both between Dublin and Meath, also at Croke Park this Sunday – “30,000 tickets have been sold already,” said Skelly. He also confirmed the 1991 Meath and Dublin teams will be introduced to the crowd prior to the senior game.
Finally, the Dublin County Board will make contact with Anthony Daly next week regarding the Clare man’s future as senior hurling manager.
“One way or the other, we’ll need to meet him,” said Dublin chairman Andy Kettle. “If he’s not coming, and I hope he is coming, we’ll need to start looking. The longer you leave it, the harder it will be to get someone.”
