Longchamp stages a replay of one of the races of the season tomorrow when Sendawar and Aljabr line up for the Prix du Moulin.
The two colts had a battle royal in the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, with Sendawar (Gerald Mosse) coming out on top by just a length and a quarter - the pair finishing fully five lengths clear of the rest.
The Alain de Royer Dupre-trained winner, successful previously in the French 2,000 Guineas, has been rested since.
But Godolphin's Aljabr, who was making his belated reappearance at Royal Ascot, won the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood in July and his connections are relishing the chance to take Sendawar on again.
Frankie Dettori has chosen to ride Aljabr at Longchamp ahead of Godolphin's other runner Fly To The Stars (Richard Hills), winner of the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury in May but only seventh in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot.
The pair are out to end a 10-year drought as the Maktoum family have drawn a blank in France's biggest mile race since Polish Precedent carried Sheikh Mohammed's colours to victory in 1989.
A field of nine, on officially soft going, is completed by Slickly (Thierry Jarnet), Dansili (Olivier Peslier), Way of Light (Kieren Fallon), Gold Away (Dominique Boeuf), Field of Hope (Sylvain Guillot) and Sabrinsky (Nicolas Guesdon).
