SHADY GIRL has put in three mixed performances so far this term, but is dropped in grade for the Henry Streeter Limited Stakes at Lingfield today and should go well.

The Barry Hills trained filly put up an encouraging showing at Thirsk on her penultimate run, making headway to dispute the lead over a furlong from home but just weakened inside the distance to finish one and three quarter lengths behind the progressive Caribbean Dancer.

Perhaps Barry Hills felt he bad gone a furlong too far testing Shady Girl over a mile so a seven furlong trip at Goodwood was chosen for her next outing. She was prominent from the start but when ridden over a couple furlongs from home she found nothing and trailed in ninth of 12.

Shady Girl should have no such problems on the Equitrack at Lingfield on a surface that rides very fast. Consequently, she looks a good bet, even over a mile, to register her first winning performance as she slips into this 0-70 stakes race with all conditions, principally the weights, in her favour.
