Colleges Hurling Harty Cup quarter-finals/West Waterford Colleges 5-12 Nenagh CBS 1-18:A hat-trick of goals by Maurice Shanahan, younger brother of hurler of the year Dan, sent West Waterford Colleges into the semi-final of the Dr Harty Cup at Kilsheelan yesterday.
Shanahan scored his first midway through the opening half, and with corner forward Pat O'Donovan scoring a brace in the 17th and 29th minutes the winners went into the break with a healthy 3-9 to 1-9 advantage.
When Nenagh closed to within a point by the 54th minute the outcome remained in the balance. Then came those clinching goals by Shanahan in the 55th minute and two minutes into added time.
