Shannon climbed further up the league table with a resounding win over bottom-placed DLSP at Thomond Park last night. The home side picked up the bonus point that further enhances their prospects of reaching the top four.
John Lacey and Jason Hayes were the Shannon try scorers in the first half. Both were converted by Andrew Thompson while Damian McCabe replied with a penalty for DLSP.
Even though the visitors ran in splendid tries in the second half by Eddie Devitt and Mihia Vioranu, with a conversion by McCabe, Lacey got his second try for Shannon and others followed from Marcus Horan and Tom Hayes with Thompson converting both and kicking a penalty.
