Billy Sheehan was the Kerry star as his side had a comfortable win at Limerick. Tipperary's Aidan Fogarty scored the opening point inside a minute, but two goals from Sheehan saw Kerry lead at halftime by 2-2 to 0-4.

Tipperary were killed off by Sheehan's third goal on 42 minutes after a goalkeeping error.
