ATHLETICS: Ciara Sheehy won over 200 metres at the Papendal International meeting in the Netherlands yesterday but missed out on a World Championship qualifying time.

The Irish sprinter clocked 23.83 seconds to beat Esther Dankwah of Ghana into second on 24.08, with Ireland's Mandy Crowe third on 24.78.

Marion Jones and her partner Tim Montgomery launch long-shot attempts to qualify for the Helsinki World Championships at the US trials starting today. Jones is now ranked just 10th in the States.
