Dublin have named the same team which defeated Armagh in the National Football League semi-final replay for their clash with Cork in the final at Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Sunday.
Minor adjustments have been made to the lineup. As expected Paul Curran will fill the centre half berth in the continued absence of Ian Robertson and Tom Lynch will play on the right flank of the defence with Keith Galvin on Curran's left.
The midfield partnership of Ciaran Whelan and Enda Sheehy is comparatively new and the half forward line also is of some interest with the former Leitrim player Declan Darcy selected on the right wing with Jim Galvin in the centre and Brendan O'Brien on the left.
Sheehy figured at left half forward in previous matches but will now partner Ciaran Whelan in the middle of the field with Brian Stynes moving into position on the left of the half forward line.
Jason Sherlock is included in the list of substitutes as he is free of soccer commitments for the summer and will, surely, be a significant part of Dublin's championship effort later in the year. It would be foolish to rule out the possibility of an appearance by him in the match on Sunday.
In the meanwhile, it now seems certain that the GAA will stage a double header in the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick on the weekend after next. It is believed that the National Hurling League final between Galway and Tipperary will be fixed for the Sunday and that the Under-21 football final between Kerry and Westmeath will be fixed for the Saturday.
Other developments suggest that last night's Games Administration Committee at Croke Park will hand out severe penalties to Fergal Tuohy, the Clare hurler sent off in the National League match against Limerick in the Gaelic Grounds and that Rory O'Connell of Westmeath will also be barred following the much publicised fracas at half-time in the match between Westmeath and Wicklow in Mullingar.
Both were allowed to plead their cases personally at Croke Park last night and the decisions will be revealed later today.
Donegal full back John Joe Doherty has been banned for three months following his sending off in a Dr McKenna Cup game against Antrim. The ban, which runs from March 21st, means Doherty will miss the county's opening match in the Ulster Championship against Armagh on June 6th.
Referee Anthony O'Neill had reported Doherty for kicking at an opponent.
