Peter Clohessy is not often praised for his magnanimity but the Young Munster man's gesture after Saturday's Six Nations Championship match against Italy made one person very happy. New cap Emmet Byrne, who came on during the second half to replace John Hayes, faced the traditional dilemma of a debutant.
Obviously a first international jersey is not one that a player would wish to swap while at the same time he would love to receive the Italian equivalent as a momento of the day. Clohessy came to the aid of the St Mary's College prop, swapping his jersey with his opposite number and presenting the Italian shirt to Byrne.
