Irish Racing Weekend preview: Dermot Weld is in Los Angeles putting the final touches to his Breeders' Cup team but he can keep the home fires burning at the Curragh this afternoon with Noahs Ark in the featured Silken Glider Stakes.

Noahs Ark is unbeaten in two, winning impressively on her Tralee debut and then overcoming fast ground to win a valuable restricted contest at Cork.

Weld has consistently been of the view that the filly is Stakes class and today is her chance to prove it. High Chaparral's half sister Treasure The Lady won well on her Curragh debut while Alexander Duchess could also go well. But Noahs Ark looks the safest option.

Weld has the two topweights in the Premier Handicap, Tiger Royal and Final Exam, but Marko Jadeo could be the safer option now that the progressive Glocca Morra isn't in opposition.

Today's other home fixture is at Wexford, where Michael Hourigan's Spin In The Wind tries to follow up a smooth success at Cork last weekend in the two-mile handicap hurdle.

Hourigan could also be on the mark with Aimier in the opening handicap hurdle.

A bumper bank holiday weekend of racing includes the start of Galway tomorrow, which is good news for the Pat Hughes-trained Gamekeeper.

If ever there has been a Ballybrit specialist it is this horse, who again looks to have a winning opportunity in the Listed handicap hurdle.

Cathy Gannon can take another successful step in her pursuit of the apprentice title on the lightly weighted Tequise in the first.
