FAI Cup report: Stephen Ward stole the plaudits with two late goals as Bohemians disposed of Skerries Harps in the third round, but the night belonged to the magnificent display of the non-league defence, especially their player-manager and goalkeeper, Alan Sweeney.

Ed Doherty worked hard in attack while centre back Paul Doherty stood out as a class apart.

Unfortunately Robbie Doyle's introduction on 20 minutes was the cue for the bombardment of Sweeney's goal.

Skerries put up a distinguished resistance for 36 minutes before David Morrison popped up a yard out to nudge home the first.
