Ipswich have confirmed the signing of Republic of Ireland international Kevin Foley who has been on trial with the club in recent weeks after returning to England in the wake of an unsuccessful stint with FC Copenhagen, where he made
just four appearances after signing last January.
The 31-year-old full back will be reunited at the Championship club with manager Mick McCarthy and his assistant Terry Connor, both of whom he worked with during their time at Wolves.
“This is a great club and I’m delighted to be here,” Foley said after signing.“It’s taken a bit of time due to the international clearance and stuff but I’m just happy it’s done now. I know the gaffer and TC from our days at Wolves and it’s great to work with them again. They know what I’m all about and likewise I know how they work.”
Former under-21 international Connor Smith, meanwhile, has signed for Wimbledon after having been released by Watford.
