Waterford United manager Gareth Cronin has continued to add to his squad ahead of the forthcoming eircom league season with the signing of goalkeeper Packie Holden.

Holden was a member of the Waterford United side that avoided relegation in 2005 but left the club last season to join Cobh Ramblers.

"I would like to welcome Packie back to the club," commented Cronin. "He is a very useful addition to the squad and it was the one area that I needed to strengthen.

"Along with Ben Spicer, there is bound to be plenty of competition and this can only be good for the players and the club for the coming season."
