Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers have both been hit with sanctions over incidents on the pitch between rival supporters in last Friday’s Airtricity League Premier Division match at Dalymount Park.

The FAI Disciplinary Committee has not specified what level of sanction each club has been given, although a statement has outlined the charges brought against the Dublin sides.

The clubs have also not released any information, although Bohemians admitted the fine was “a substantial amount that the club can ill-afford”.

Bohemians were charged with five offences under the categories of ‘Pitch Invasion’, ‘Match and Player Safety Obligations’ and ‘Missiles’ – objects thrown by supporters.

Rovers was charged with two offences: ‘Pitch Invasion’ and ‘Missiles’, relating to conduct of their own supporters.

The FAI Stadia and Security Committee are reviewing match operations with Bohemians officials regarding how the fixture was managed on the night.

Both clubs opted not to appeal the decisions.
