Impressive youngster Giuseppe Rossi will not be allowed leave Manchester United on loan before season's end.

Football League clubs have until Thursday to bring players in on emergency loan deals and a host of clubs, including Ipswich and Preston, are believed to have enquired about the 19-year-old.

Rossi has already caught the eye with four goals for the Red Devils senior side, in addition to his amazing haul of 26 at reserve-team level.

Alex Ferguson has high hopes for the former Parma player and admits Rossi would have figured a lot more at first-team level had it not been for the presence of Wayne Rooney, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Louis Saha in United's squad.

Ferguson is still considering the best way forward for Rossi's career but the Scot's assistant Carlos Queiroz has confirmed he will not be following a host of United youngsters out of Old Trafford.

"Giuseppe will not go out on loan this season," said Queiroz. "He is still working under the programme we set him at the beginning of the season and it will end as planned at the end of the season.

"We have nothing in our minds about letting him go out on loan before then, although next season is another story and maybe then we can open up that possibility."
