Embarrassed Wembley officials have ripped thousands of seats out of the stadium ahead Saturday week's FA Cup final.
The majority of seats in the redeveloped ground are red but, because of sun exposure, many have turned pink in recent weeks.
It is the second time in less than a year that stadium officials have had to exchange seats. Last summer 5000 were replaced because of problems with red dye.
This time some 17,000 "luxury seats" are affected, including seated areas in and around both dugouts.
Stadium builders Multiplex, already criticised for a series of other complications and delays at the London venue, will foot the bill.
Wembley expect the work to be completed by the end of next week.
The FA expect a full house of 90,000 for the final between league champions Manchester United and runners-up Chelsea.
