Colleges/Pack power pays off for Leinster Colleges:Leinster moved one ahead of Munster in the pecking order with their fourth win in the ninth Irish Colleges Interprovincial final, prevailing 30-16 at Sydney Parade yesterday.

Leinster made the best of their greater power up front to register tries from wings Darragh Fanning and David Rowan and prop Jonathan Molloy to lead 20-3 at the break.

Munster were not helped by three late changes to their original selection, with number eight Darren Twomey, scrumhalf David Copeland and prop Emmet Hall all stepping up to the mark.

Replacement wing Alan Lynch and hooker Keith Mathiasz were able to breach the winners' defence as they improved markedly to break even in terms of territory and possession.

Motor Sport/Hamilton's speed ban:Lewis Hamilton has been banned from driving in France after being caught speeding at 120mph, it was revealed yesterday.

The 22-year-old, who narrowly missed out on winning this year's Formula One championship, was given a one-month driving ban.

Hamilton's Mercedes was stopped by police near Laon doing 120mph, 40mph over the motorway speed limit, according to reports.

A spokesman for his McLaren racing team said: "McLaren were made aware that Lewis was stopped for speeding in France while driving in a private capacity."
