DUBLIN HURLING FINAL - Ballyboden St Enda's 0-17 Kilmacud Crokes 0-7:BALLYBODEN ST Enda's retained their status as Dublin hurling champions on Saturday after taking a 10-point victory at Parnell Park.
Kilmacud Crokes rarely looked as though they would add the county hurling title to the football one they won last week and it took them 50 minutes to register their first score from play.
Back-to-back titles then for Ballyboden manager Liam Hogan as his team delivered when it mattered most. "At half-time I felt there was a white line of truth these lads needed to cross to let me know whether they were mice or men." he said. "And I told them if they wanted another county medal, now was the time to stand up and be counted."
It was Emmet Carroll who set the tone for Ballyboden with their opening score but Crokes pulled ahead courtesy of successive frees from Eoin Fitzgerald and another from Fergal Armstrong.
Ballyboden levelled with a couple of David Curtin points and they worked up a 0-6 to 0-5 lead by the half-time break.
They then answered Hogan's rally call and early second-half points from from David Durkin, Dave Sweeney, Curtin and Paul Ryan effectively ended the game as a contest.
