Donegal SFC Final/ St Eunan's 0-12 Glenswilly 1-3: A crowd of over 6,000 turned up in MacCumhaill Park for the novel final between the near neighbours St Eunan's and Glenswilly.
Favourites St Eunan's were in control in the opening half but found it difficult to convert their superiority on the scoreboard, hitting seven wides.
They won most of the kick-outs and nearly all the breaks but Brendan Devenney did not have his shooting boots with him.
Glenswilly started brightly with Neil Gallagher doing well around midfield. The Glen men hit the first point from Gerard McGrenra on nine minutes.
St Eunan's were showing nerves but, once they settled, they controlled the game and points from Ciarán Sharkey, Devenney (free), Paddy McGowan and Devenney from play had them in control after 23 minutes of the game.
St Eunan's also had a good goal chance midway through the half when John Haran broke through but Ciarán Molloy made a great stop in the Glenswilly goal.
Playing in their first final, Glenswilly made a great start to the second half and a goal from Kealan McFadden after five minutes was followed by a point by Gary McFadden to put the sides level.
It was then that St Eunan's took control, however, hitting seven unanswered points. Devenney began to find the range while Paddy McGowan added a couple of great scores.
