Colleges hurling All-Ireland senior semi-final/ St Flannan's 2-13 St Brendan's CS 1-14: Munster kingpins St Flannan's, Ennis, booked their place in the All-Ireland final with an impressive victory over St Brendan's, Birr, in Nenagh on Saturday.
The Clare side dominated the early exchanges with Colin Ryan hitting over a sideline cut to open their account. He added a second before Ian Colleran forced the ball to the St Brendan's net.
St Brendan's opened their account in the 12th minute when Brian Nolan scored two quick points but Ryan struck again with two points before Gerard Arthur popped up to put five points between the sides.
Arthur was again on hand in the 23rd minute when he pulled first time to fire home the St Flannan's second goal.
The Clare side led by 2-8 to 0-6 at half-time but Birr cut that lead in the second half with points from Diarmuid Horan, Danny Masterson and Mark Mulrooney before Ryan and Jack Neylon steadied the St Flannan's ship with well-taken points.
St Brendan's pressed hard in the closing stages and Paul Cleary scored a goal in the 59th minute to leave just one point between the sides. St Flannan's ended the late comeback with Ryan pointing a close-range free.
