A young Presentation Glasthule side proved no match for their more powerful and physically mature opponents in the Junior Cup at Navan yesterday. St Mary's, who had enjoyed a 69-5 victory over St Benildus in the last round, were always in control but, despite going over for a try in the second minute, were well contained before the interval when they only enjoyed a 10-0 lead.
However, with seven under-14s in their side, Glasthule's resolve weakened after the break and, despite good performances from full-back John Flood, second centre James Darcy, out-half Gary Hayes and number eight Karl Lawlor, the result was never in doubt.
