Rugby Schools' Cup drawOne of the heavyweights in the Leinster Schools' Challenge Cup will be making an early exit from this year's competition, as pre-competition favourites St Mary's College were paired against Blackrock College in last night's draw.
Whoever wins the mouth-watering showdown between the Holy Ghost rugby giants will have a relatively straight-forward run to the semi-finals, where in all likelihood Belvedere College will be lying in wait - presuming they can overcome CBC Monkstown in their first round match.
The standout fixture in the top half of the draw sees St Michael's College and Clongowes Wood College do battle to see who will play Terenure College, again on the presumption that Pres Bray don't produce the biggest shock in years in the quarter-finals.
The Junior Cup draw produced a somewhat unbalanced look as many of this year's fancied teams are in the lower half.
Blackrock again have a difficult start, as they face Clongowes in the opening game, while a fancied CBC Monkstown, Belvedere and St Michael's all join them in the bottom knockout section.
St Michael's face league finalists Gonzaga, with Belvedere and CBC playing qualifiers from the Fr Godfrey Cup.
