With nothing at stake, the spectators came expecting "summer rugby" but the players, especially Terenure, saw it differently.
In a match with four tries, what looked like being the best came early in the second half when Shane Cullen jinked past three defenders to bring 'Nure within five points, but this was immediately answered by a Costello surge and a penalty goal from McHugh.
The real try of the match , however, came from St Mary's, which was started by a quick dart from Eddie Hekenui, carried on in great style by hooker Peter Smyth and finished by flanker Karl Jennings.
