CARLOW SHC FINAL: St Mullins 1-12, Mount Leinster 0-12:VETERAN PAT Coady fired over 10 points as St Mullins claimed the Carlow crown for a record 23rd time after deservedly dethroning holders and south county neighbours Mount Leinster Rangers at Dr Cullen Park yesterday.
Coady was outstanding at centre forward in a man of the match performance, helping his side build up a 0-8 to 0-6 at half-time.
In the 34th minute Paudie Kehoe struck for the game’s only goal and with John Doran and Thomas Doyle outstanding in the central defensive positions St Mullins were always in control as they closed the game out to claim their first title since 2002.
