St Peter's 0-16 Muckalee 1-5: St Peter's, Dunboyne, were too cute and slick for Kilkenny's Muckalee yesterday at Ballyragget. The winners might have goaled through Conor O'Donoghue after only a few seconds, but goalkeeper Stephen Murphy brought off a superb save. With Gerard Robinson shooting three points, and Stephen Moran and Seán McGarrell pointing, the winners raced 0-5 to 0-0 in front after 11 minutes. By half-time they led by 0-10 to 0-2.

The winners resumed with points from Colm Brennan, Gerard Robinson and McGarrell for a lead of 0-14 to 0-2. Muckalee's John Maher pulled back a goal in the 42nd minute.
