The Connacht minor football curtain-raiser to the big game at Tuam Stadium yesterday was over as a contest by half-time, when Mayo led by 0-14 to 0-2. The Mayo boys, most of whom were a year older than their opponents, had little more than target practise in a disappointingly one-sided game. To their credit, Roscommon fought back in the second half for two consolation goals by corner forward Paul McTiernan.
