UEFA are considering the use of television evidence in future matches after Paul Bosvelt escaped punishment for his tackle on Denis Irwin. European football's governing body claim they cannot discipline the Feyenoord player because the incident was not noted by any of their officials at the Champions' League match in Rotterdam, which Manchester United won 3-1 two weeks ago.
Television cameras captured Bosvelt stamping on Irwin's left knee, and the United defender will be out until Christmas with ligament damage.
TV evidence is used in Britain to spot players' misdemeanours, and UEFA admit it may be time to followed suit.
