Laois have been forced to make a few alterations in the starting lineup to face Wexford at Croke Park on Sunday. Although there are only two changes in personal from the team that beat Dublin last month, there are also a couple of positional switches.

Out through injury is corner back Nicholas Lacey and into his place comes Robert Delaney. Lacey was injured the game against Dublin and Delaney was his substitute on that occasion.

Also out through injury is wing back Eoin Browne, and his place goes to James Phelan, who moves from midfield. James Young gets the call into the starting line-up and will now partner Dave Cuddy in the middle.

Cuddy was actually named at centre forward the last day, but quickly switched with midfielder Declan Conroy, who now starts in the centre forward position. Paul Cuddy, the goal scoring hero against Dublin, starts again at centre back while Niall Rigney was once again ruled out through suspension.

Laois (SH v Wexford): J Lyons; R Delaney, J Dooley, D Killeen; J Phelan, P Cuddy, J O'Sullivan; J Young, D Cuddy; C Cuddy, D Conroy, O Dowling; D Culleton, D Rooney, F O'Sullivan.

Manager Peter Ford has delayed naming his side to face Mayo on Sunday until later today. There are three key players currently suffering with injuries and Ford wanted to wait as long as possible before finalising his selection.

Defender Mark Cosgrove is troubled with an ankle injury and centre forward Paul Taylor is hampered by a groin injury. They should be fit to start, but there is a major doubt over full back Nigel Clancy whose groin injury is proving difficult to play through.

Westmeath SF

Manager Luke Dempsey is awaiting a fitness check on midfielder David O'Shaughnessy ahead of Saturday's meeting with Wexford. A calf muscle injury forced his second half retirement during last Sunday's loss to Meath.

Dublin SF

Encouraging news for manager Tom Carr ahead of the semi-final with Offaly on Sunday week is that Ian Robertson played for the final 15 minutes of the challenge game with Cavan on Tuesday night, which Dublin won by a point. It was Robertson's first appearance since the league after a stress fracture in the leg ruled him out of action.
