At the request of Mick McCarthy, the Republic of Ireland players will wear black armbands in tomorrow's match as a mark of respect to the late Diana, Princess of Wales. A minute's silence will also be observed before the game.
McCarthy said that, while all the players were proud to represent Ireland, some of them were born in England. "But Princess Diana wasn't just a British celebrity - she belonged to the world. I think it is fitting that we should now join in the respect being paid to her by people all over the world."
