Propriety Management, the organisers and creators of The Trilogy, yesterday clarified the role of Tennis Ireland in the tennis element of their event next month, which also includes a fashion and music element.

Tennis Ireland are the governing body of the sport in Ireland. Six of the top 10 female tennis players in the world are scheduled to play in the RDS, Dublin on December 5th, 6th and 7th.

"Officially The Collins Cup, the centrepiece of The Trilogy extravaganza is an exhibition with a competitive edge and does not require the sanction of Tennis Ireland. We held discussions with them only as a courtesy," said yesterday's press statement.

"The only formality required to stage this event was the permission of the World Tennis Association to approach the tennis stars. This they gave us willingly after we outlined our plans," said Propriety Management managing director Sean Collins.

"We embrace Tennis Ireland's enthusiasm to be involved in this major tennis event," he added.

IMG, the biggest sports management company in the world also confirmed what players under their contract would be playing in Dublin.
