Terenure have made three changes to the side to face St Mary's on Saturday at Lakelands and hope to raise their performance above the lifeless, but ultimately successful, first outing against Cork Constitution. Coach Gerry Murphy described that first collection of points as "significant" but is not convinced it was good enough to compete for the title.
At out-half the polished Paul Hennebry is replaced by Shane Cullen while in the back row flanker and captain Joe Kelly comes back into the team for Hugh O'Neill. Kelly had been out injured after the side's game against Clontarf in the Leinster semi-final during which he suffered concussion. Terenure subsequently cited the Clontarf prop, Peter McQuillen, who received a four-match suspension.
The home side are still undecided over one of the prop positions. Both Donal Hyland and Byron O'Doherty-Campbell have been named. O'Doherty-Campbell did not train on Tuesday so there is a question mark over his fitness. A decision will be made today.
Lansdowne continue to shoulder a number of injuries, notably centre Kurt McQuilkin, who they hope will be fit to play on Sunday week against Terenure. Front row Cormac Egan and centre Shane Horgan are also out through injury for their game against neighbours Blackrock College.
Triple champions Shannon make four changes to their side to face Old Crescent in the rearranged fixture at Thomond Park on Friday evening. In Shannon's first floodlight All-Ireland league match Paul McMahon comes in for Alan McGrath in the centre with Gavin Russell claiming the out-half berth ahead of the injured Ian Sherwin. Shannon, however, are not unused to matches under lights and last season they defeated Garryowen in the final of the Charity Shield.
Noel Healy, sidelined for a number of weeks, is again available to the title holders with Donal Costello losing out in a front row rearrangement. Second row Kieron Maher is out of the equation through injury and Kevin Keane comes in as his replacement.
Dolphin, who face Garryowen, have the services of hooker David Lee to strengthen their squad but former Irish captain and current coach Terry Kingston will line out at Musgrave Park. Lee, formerly of Cork Constitution joined Dolphin at the beginning of the year and now arrives back after a stint of several months in the UK.
There are, though, several changes to the team with Roger Dineen coming in at fullback to replace the injured Colm Mac Coiter. John O'Mahony also returns to out-half having recovered from a thigh injury while Shane Jackson makes his All-Ireland league debut at number eight. Jackson comes in for the injured Ken Roche.
In division two Wanderers are still without captain Shane McEntee, who continues to be ruled out with a shoulder injury for the weekend game at home to Skerries. Bevan Cantrell replaces Simon Hoffman at hooker in his first competitive match for Wanderers.
