Carlow 0-12 Wicklow 0-9:Thirteen-man Carlow carved out a battling win over Wicklow in their O'Byrne Cup match at Bray last night.

Carlow raced into a 0-5 to 0-1 lead in the first 20 minutes with two of those points fired over by corner-forward Brian Murphy, but Wicklow came back into things and trailed by a solitary point, 0-7 to 0-6, at the break.

Ten minutes into the second half Carlow had their midfielder Dara Foley sent off and he was followed to the line by Shane Mernagh nine minutes later.

But points by Willy Minchin and Danny St Ledger gave them the cushion to withstand a late Wicklow rally.
