Three league managers make the shortlist of six for this year's Eircom Soccer Writers Association of Ireland Personality of the Year award, the nominations for which were announced yesterday.
Longford's Stephen Kenny, Jonathon Speak of Finn Harps and Bohemians boss Roddy Collins are in contention for the award which has regularly been won by managers such as Dermot Keely, Jim McLaughlin and Brian Kerr.
The list of nominees is completed by players Glen Crowe of Bohemians, Shelbourne's Paul Doolin and Colm Tresson of Bray Wanderers.
Crowe, who has scored 23 league goals this season, is one away from equalling Speak's 13-year-old record for the premier division in its current form.
Tresson has again proved what a remarkable asset he is to Wanderers by establishing himself as the club's leading scorer, despite alternating between defence and midfield.
At 38, Doolin has had another fine season at Shelbourne, turning in many commanding performances in the heart of the club's midfield. He has already announced his intention to retire this summer.
The league, meanwhile, have put back all of the kick-offs in this weekend's final round of National League premier division matches following confirmation by RTE television that they will broadcast the crucial meeting between Shelbourne and Cork City live.
