Leicester Tigers 50; Munster 19: Four tries, two either side of half-time, set the foundation for Leicester's decisive 50-19 win over Munster in front of a mere 8,000 at Welford Road last night.
Munster were well in contention and leading 9-6 after a 30th minute 55-yard Paul Burke penalty but then tries from Daryl Gibson and Alex Tuilagi followed by a Sam Vesty try and a penalty try within 10 minutes of the restart left Munster in a hopeless position.
Following that penalty try Leicester threw on their Lions - Ben Kay, Martin Corry and Graham Rowntree - and Munster simply had no answer to the power and pace of the home side.
Further tries came from Ephraim Taukafa and former Leinster star Leo Cullen but, to their credit, Munster broke out of defence thanks to a neat Trevor Halstead break, carried on by John Kelly, and the move ended in a penalty try of their own.
