Last year's winner, Jason McNamara (Hillview, Clonmel) is among 62 starters for the All-Ireland Boys' pitch and putt championship at Waterford Crystal next weekend. McNamara was on the Tipperary team that won the Munster intercounty title last year, and has an outstanding juvenile record. He was fifth in the All-Ireland Strokeplay championship at Navan in 1999, a year he was also runner-up in the Munster championship. In addition to his exciting victory at Fermoy last year, McNamara also assisted Tipperary to runners-up spot in the national intercounty tests. Meanwhile Cork, winners for the ninth time last year, will defend their Juvenile intercounty championship for the Tom Murphy Cup on Saturday. Cork are seeking their sixth title in-a-row.
