Stan Collymore is likely to be promoted from the substitutes' bench for Villa after their 2-1 defeat by Blackburn on Saturday. Alan Thompson is suspended. Charlton (18) v Arsenal (5)
Charlton suffered a sixth straight defeat with a 2-1 loss to Wimbledon on Saturday and have doubts over strikers Clive Mendonca (groin) and Andy Hunt (flu). Charlton have decided against offering Eric Wynalda a contract after the United States striker failed to impress the manager Alan Curbishley in a trial. "Wynalda has gone back because I didn't think he was better than the players I had," said Curbishley. "I'm not going to spend on someone I don't believe is going to improve my squad." Arsenal have striker problems due to Nicolas Anelka (ankle) being ruled out for this London derby as the champions look to continue their recent good form. Tony Adams and David Seaman are again out.
Derby (11) v Middlesbrough (6)
Derby drew 0-0 at Everton on Saturday and their coach Jim Smith admits better finishing in front of goal is needed. He may promote Dean Strurridge to a starting place to help remedy the problem. Middlesbrough had an 11-game unbeaten run in a 3-1 defeat by Liverpool, but are likely to remain with the same side.
Leicester (10) v Blackburn (16)
Leicester had a full strength side out as they beat Sheffield Wednesday and will be unchanged. Striker Chris Sutton is doubtful for Blackburn, who will be hoping to continue their recent revival which has yielded two wins and two draws since Brian Kidd took over as manager.
Liverpool (9) v Newcastle (12)
Steve McManaman, back after injury, came through unscathed as a substitute for Liverpool in their win at Middlesbrough and could start this game. Paul Ince is suspended. The pressure on Newcastle coach Ruud Gullitt about his time away from the club in Holland is increasing after a 3-0 defeat by Leeds.
Nottm Forest (20) v Southampton (19)
Forest coach Dave Bassett came in for criticism after his side equalled a club record 16 premier league games without a win and he is without striker Pierre Van Hooijdonk (suspended). Southampton's injury problems have increased with Matthew Le Tissier (calf) and Stuart Ripley (knee) doubtful after a 2-0 loss against Chelsea. Mark Hughes is suspended.
Tottenham (13) v Everton (14)
Tottenham will hope defenders Ramon Vega and John Scales are fit after some poor defending in a 11 draw with Coventry on Saturday. Everton may consider starting with forward Nick Barmby as options are limited in their attempts to solve poor goalscoring form.
West Ham (7) v Coventry (17)
West Ham have Marc Keller out after he picked up a hamstring injury in the 1-0 defeat by Arsenal. He joins Paul Kitson (toe), John Moncur (thigh) and Neil Ruddock (suspended) on the absentee list. Striker John Aloisi staked his claim for a starting line place after he came on as substitute and scored for Coventry against Tottenham on his home debut. He could play at the expense of Noel Whelan or Darren Huckerby.
