A decisive win for the Wildcats on Saturday has set them on their way to another ESB women's league title.
It was billed as the game that Tolka Rovers needed to win if they were to hold on to the title, but instead they were crushed 70-42 by a determined Wildcats, who now look certain to win their sixth championship in seven years.
As a contest, the game was more or less over by half-time. The Wildcats jumped to a 26-14 lead, as Tolka struggled to put together any sort of decent offence.
Jillian Hayes was in outstanding form and showed no signs of her recent foot operation. At the end, she was the clear top-scorer with 27 points.
Sharon Kelly was once again in inspirational form, but it simply wasn't enough to counter the ferocious scoring rate of the home side in the final quarter.
Kim Fitzpatrick and Orla O'Reilly were also to the fore of the Wildcats scoring and this result leaves them with just the one loss from their 11 games.
Tolka have now lost three and are trailing by six points, a margin that will take a major turn in form to close.
The Wildcats were back on court yesterday, but this time were lucky to dismiss a stubborn Killester.
The Waterford club eventually prevailed by 46 to 43.
