The four clubs that qualified for European competition next season will contest the FAI National League Super Cup next week.
The clubs involved are league winners St Patrick's Athletic (European Champions League first qualifying phase), league runners-up Cork City and Cup winners Bray Wanderers (UEFA Cup), and third-placed Shelbourne who have already completed their first game in the InterToto Cup.
The Super Cup will again be played over two semi-finals, with Cork City hosting St Patrick's at Turner's Cross and Shelbourne playing Bray Wanderers at Tolka Park, both kicking-off next Thursday at 7.30 p.m. The two winners will meet in the final and the beaten semi-finalists in the third place play-off on the following weekend of July 3rd and 4th, with the venue depending on the teams involved.
Earlier this week it was agreed that the clubs would receive significant financial and practical support from both the FAI and the National League to assist in their preparations.
