Group D:Wales manager John Toshack's final preparations for the Euro 2008 qualifier against Germany were disrupted by captain Craig Bellamy's absence but he is confident his young side are ready for the tough challenge ahead.
Bellamy missed training at the squad's Vale of Glamorgan headquarters after the West Ham striker was called to hospital because of concerns over his new-born daughter overnight.
His third child, born on Monday, developed a minor feeding complication and the 28-year-old and his wife Claire decided she needed to be checked over.
But Bellamy will be back with the squad to lead out a side full of youngsters at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium tonight.
Toshack has selected 20-year-old goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey who will be making only his fourth appearance for his country, while young defenders Lewin Nyatanga (19) and Gareth Bale (18) are also in the ranks.
They face a German side packed with vastly experienced, battled-hardened European stars who have lost just one of 11 matches since last summer's World Cup. Toshack, though, is confident his side will come through what many feel could be a tough ordeal.
"I have no worries about Wayne, none at all. He has done so well for us in recent games and his performance against Bulgaria last month was outstanding, he produced some wonderful saves to win us the match," he added.
Nyatanga has missed just one of Wales' last 15 matches and Toshack has full confidence in the Derby youngster. He said: "He is a super lad, bright and intelligent and I know he will handle this game well."
Now, with Ryan Giggs retired, Toshack wants his experienced players to step forward and take more responsibility.
"We have players like Danny Gabbidon, Simon Davies and Jason Koumas who now should step into the breach."
Germany are favourites to produce the win that will all but secure their place in next summer's finals though they will be without Michael Ballack, Torsten Frings, Bernd Schneider and Philipp Lahm through injury, and have lost Piotr Trochowski and Lukas Podolski to minor leg injuries. Simon Rolfes, Robert Hilbert and Kevin Kuranyi are expected to play.Wales v Germany
